Chelsea loanee Wallace arrested

youngster Wallace has been arrested in Arnhem on suspicion of a "sexual offence".

The right-back, on loan at Vitesse, was reportedly arrested at 4am local time in the city centre and has immediately been handed the maximum fine by the Eredivisie outfit and dropped from the weekend league trip to Excelsior.

Wallace, who was signed by Chelsea from Fluminense in 2013, broke Vitesse rules by visiting bars within 48 hours of a league game.

"We still don't know what exactly happened," Police spokesman Paul Koetsier is quoted by NTL as saying. "That must be found out during the investigation.

"We can't make it more concrete than a suspicion of a sexual offence. Maybe there will me more information later today."

Vitesse spokesperson Wiebe Nelissen added: "We also understand that Wallace was arrested on suspicion of an offense.

"We will not speculate on the nature of the suspicion. First the facts need to be clear and we want to hear his side of the story. Then we can judge."

An official Vitesse statement added: "Wallace won't be in the selection for the match against Excelsior. The Brazilian defender was arrested last night in the centre of Arnhem on suspicion of an offence.

"Based on the fact that he is to refrain from going out in the 48 hours before a match, Vitesse immediately decided Wallace will be out of the team and will receive a maximum fine.

"Vitesse has no further announcements."

16 Most powerful Militaries In Africa

The Global Fire Power ranking, measures countries’ military strength and assigns a power index number in order to compare them to other countries. Many factors are taken into consideration, and smaller countries can compete with larger ones due to points given for refinement and technological advancement.
Based on available information, the following countries represent the most powerful militaries in Africa.
Numbers reflect each country’s power index, derived from a unique algorithm developed by Global Fire Power. A perfect score is a 0.0000. The lower the number, the stronger the military, and bonuses and penalties are added to country scores as needed.

16. Zimbabwe – Power Index: 3.0955
The Zimbabwe Defense Forces (ZDF) include the Zimbabwe National Army and the Air Force of Zimbabwe. Being a landlocked country, they lack a naval force. The country also holds a strong paramilitary force with its own air wing. ZDF includes 30,000 active personnel, 20,000 reserves, 325 armored fighting vehicles, and 92 aircraft.
15. Ghana – Power Index: 2.9726
The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) are supervised by the Ghanaian Ministry of Defense, and are under the command of President John Dramani Mahama. The GAF’s external operations since the 1960s have seen involvement in turbulent international situations including the Rwandan genocide, the Iran-Iraq war, and the Lebanese Civil War. Active front line personnel number 13,500, armored fighting vehicles for the land forces number 125, and the GAF has 24 aircraft, and 23 naval vessels.
14. South Sudan – Power Index: 2.7689
Founded as a guerrilla movement in 1983, the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) played a large and violent role in the disastrous Second Sudanese Civil War. Its commander-in-chief is Salva Kiir Mayardit, and it has a land force with 110 tanks, 250 armored fighting vehicles, 210,000 active front line personnel, and a tiny air force with nine aircraft.
13. Uganda – Power Index: 2.6895
The Uganda People’s Defense Force (UPDF) was formerly the National Resistance Army, renamed after the 1995 enactment of the constitution. It has almost managed to push the violent Lord’s Resistance Army — a children’s army — out of Uganda. UPDF relies heavily on Russian, Polish, and Chinese military materials. Its land systems consist of 350 armored fighting vehicles and 25 towed artillery pieces; 43 aircraft and eight naval vessels.
12. Democratic Republic of Congo – Power Index: 2.6642
The Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) started coming into its own after peace was restored following the horrendous Second Congo War, which ended in 2003. The military’s greatest asset is its land forces, although it also holds small air and naval units. Because of massive ongoing instability in the region, the U.N. has deployed armed forces to assist the FARDC. Some features of the DRC’s military include 90 tanks, 200 armored fighting vehicles, 42 aircraft types, and 20 naval vessels.

Computer Predicts Chelsea Will Win The Premier League

According to a leading football simulator prediction, Jose Mourinho's team will win the Premier League this season ahead Man City.

The simulator factored in the various injuries and suspensions EPL teams have picked up since the game's initial release in November last year.
And it's Chelsea who emerged victorious, finishing three points clear of defending champions City in second place.
Manchester United, under the guidance of Louis van Gaal, came in third ahead of Liverpool in fourth.
This would spell disaster for Arsenal, who finished fifth in the fantasy table. If replicated in real life, it would Arsene Wenger's team missing out on Champions League football for the first time in 18 years -- unless of course the London side win Europe's premier competition.
Arsenal faces Monaco in the last 16 next month with Chelsea and Manchester City also reaching the knockout stage.
Despite their early season promise, and despite sitting pretty in third place in the actual league table, Southampton's charge up the table will stutter and end in a seventh-place finish, according to the game's manufacturers Sports Interactive.
However, there is better news for City when the January transfer window is factored into the equation, a period during the season when European clubs can add to their rosters.
The Football Manager team ran a second simulation which included speculated transfer targets for each team and in this version of the league it's City who take the title from Chelsea on goal difference.
The makers of this simulator have simulated the remaining matches of the 2014-15 campaign

These Worms Do Invade Brains

A Chinese descent, based in UK had recently visited China, which along with South Korea, Japan and Thailand, has more regular occurrences of the parasite known as Spirometra erinaceieuropaei. Four years earlier the man had first experienced symptoms, such as headaches, which the team of doctors at Addenbrookes Hospital, in Cambridge, had treated as tuberculosis. But when he returned, this is what one of the doctors had to say, "When he reappeared, he had new symptoms," says Gkrania-Klotsas. The worm was now pushing on a new part of his brain, causing seizures and weakness in his legs. The condition associated with his infection was in fact Sparganosis. There is no known drug to effectively treat the infection meaning that upon diagnosis doctors had to be quick to remove the worm surgically.

"These worms are pretty mysterious," says geneticist Hayley Bennett from the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, in Cambridge, "We know it has a very complicated life cycle."
The adult form of the Spirometra tapeworm only occurs in the intestines of cats and dogs but as these animals shed the worms' eggs in their feces the eggs can enter, and contaminate, water. The resulting juvenile form of tapeworm -- known as larvae -- can then stay in the water within certain small crustaceans or end up in frogs and snakes. As larvae they can invade humans through ingestion or direct contact with infected animals. The patient in Cambridge was thought to have accidentally drunk water whilst swimming in an infected lake, according to Gkrania-Klotsas. The worm then took hold.
Once you consume them, they can move throughout your body -- your eyes, your tissues and most commonly your brain. They leave doctors puzzled in their wake as they migrate and settle to feed on the body they're invading; a classic parasite, but this one can get into your head.
"The larvae can encyst in the brain or somewhere else," says Bennett. The consequences of these cysts can be tissue damage, blindness, paralysis or even death.
